How to read the odds
Sportaza uses decimal odds, which are the easiest to work out. The number is what you get back for every 1.00 you bet, and that includes your stake.
Say you bet €10 at odds of 2.50. If you win, you get €25 back: your €10 stake plus €15 profit.
Want to know how likely the bookmaker thinks something is? Divide 1 by the odds. At 2.50 that’s 0.40, so about a 40% chance.
The bets you’ll use most
| Bet | How it wins |
|---|---|
| Single | You pick one thing. If it happens, you win. |
| Multi (accumulator) | Two or more picks in one bet. The odds multiply, so the return can be big, but every pick has to win. |
| System | Several multis in one bet, so you can still win something if one or two picks lose. |
| Bet Builder | Several bets on the same match in one, for example the winner, a scorer and the corners. |
| Handicap | One side gets a head start, for example +1.5 goals, to even out a one-sided match. |
| Over/under | Don’t mind who wins? Bet on the total. Over 2.5 goals wins with 3 or more goals in the match. |
| Live bet | A bet you place while the match is on. |
When a bet counts, and when it doesn’t
- Football is 90 minutes. Most markets count the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties don’t count unless the market says so.
- Ice hockey. “Winner” and “Handicap” markets include overtime and penalties when the market name says so. To confirm
- Void bets. If a bet is made void, you get your stake back: it settles at odds of 1.00.
The full settlement rules for every sport are in the sportsbook terms on sportaza.com.
Keep it fun
Betting is entertainment, not a way to pay the bills. Decide what you’re happy to spend before you start, and stick to it. If it stops being fun, there are tools to set limits or take a break on the Responsible gambling page.
